O Fëaruin tem um pouco de razão, Fingolfin era orgulhoso (só Finarfin, dos três irmãos, era distinguido pela sabedoria):
"High princes were Fëanor and Fingolfin, the elder sons of Finwë (...); but now they grew proud and jealous each of his rights and his possessions. " (Silmarillion começo do Cap. 7)
Mas não quer dizer que Fingolfin fosse tão orgulhoso quanto Fëanor:
'Thou shalt lead and I will follow.' (Silmarillion Cap. 8)
