Depois de muitas voltas, vi que Aline não tem nada a ver com o termo que eu encontrei no dicionário de nomes que eu tenho em casa. O que eu achei lá é:"derivado do Teutônico, significa, nobre, elegante, esplendorosa".

Aline é derivado do celta, não do teutônico, pois "nobre, etc" em teutônico é "Athal", da mesma forma que em gótico (Gutiska Razda, chamado por alguns estudiosos de norreno, ou nórrico...) Foi daí que inspirei meu nick, "Athalwolf", traduzindo "Lobo Nobre", do Gôdo. (Também foi o nome de um rei visigodo da Espanha durante a Dark Age, conhecido entre os historiadores brasileiros como Ataúlfo...)

Se eu não me engano, Tiago em inglês é James (não me perguntem como, nem por q). Origem bíblica. É um dos apóstolos.

Pelo que eu sei, os dois nomes (James e Tiago) vêm de Jacó. A partir da Bíblia, o nome seguiu duas linhas linguísticas, a latina e a germânica. Em inglês acaba ficando James sei eu porque. Mas o caminho latino é: Jacó > Iaco > Iago > Tiago.
